Inspired by a call for a miniature art works in the spring of 2020, which determined the maximum size of 5x7cm, artist Anna van der Putte started making small assemblages and then couldn’t stop. They were made from scraps, offcuts, fragments and discarded objects and materials. Each piece was painstakingly considered, assembled and crafted, and given a customised protective box.
In 2020 the Treasurer accepted a total of 192 entries into the collection, numbered nonconsecutively. Incorporation into the Treasury is an acknowledgement of the value contained in the pieces and ensures their safekeeping. A full-colour catalogue of the 2020 collection is available.
